Philadelphia Media Room and the Ambassador Internship Program
IAC Philadelphia and IDC Herzliya launched the Philadelphia Media Room this last Spring semester. The Media Room offers high level internship program for high-school and college students, as well as educational sessions for groups.
The Media Room brings together Israeli-Americans, Jewish Americans and Israelis to create a cutting-edge pro-Israel community, utilizing online technologies to create a space of activism.
Our primary goal is promoting a positive influence on the international public opinion towards Israel, via social media platforms.
The Philadelphia Media room next cohort will open on September 2018 at congregation Beth El in Cherry Hill NJ. A group of Israeli and Jewish American high-school students, college students and young adults will come together for a high-level training program which will provide them with the tools to become pro-Israel social media activists.
The media room will serve as a physical space for three departments:
1. Online activism through Act.IL app
Creating and uploading weekly missions to the Act.IL app, and building our local social media community for Israel

2. Content creation
Producing videos, infographics, blogs, polls, petitions to be shared across various social media channels

3. Professional training
Advising our community on how to be better advocates for Israel with our 'Situation Room' simulator and planning pop-up events to raise awareness of our program

Under the guidance of volunteer mentors from the fields of research, journalism, hi-tech and education, a hand-chosen group of Student Ambassadors (ages 16-24), will represent an elite public diplomacy team, developing Israel awareness campaigns and reactions to local anti-Israel and BDS activity, while training and engaging a wider community of volunteers (all ages) to join their efforts.
