What subsidies do I receive as a student and how does it work?

As a student, you receive both travel and accommodation subsidies. You are in charge of booking your own travel and accommodation reservations. Please be sure to SAVE all receipts and invoices. After you attend the conference, you will submit your reimbursement requests via an online form. You can expect to receive your refunds within 45 days after the conference ends.

Accommodation:

Each student receives $60/night. To be eligible you must stay at the dedicated conference hotel for at least 2 nights. 4 students max/room.

Travel:

You may travel to the hotel by whichever means you prefer! Can include plane, car, bus etc. If you carpool, only one travel reimbursement will be provided per car.

Travel Subsidy (students only) is nased on distance from the summit's Hotel:

0-100 miles: Up to $50

101-400 miles: Up to $120

401-2000 miles: Up to $170

2001+ miles: Up to $250

When will I receive my reimbursement?

Hotel and Travel subsidies will be provided within 45 days after the summit ends.

How do I receive my travel subsidy?

You will need to fill out a form and upload all your receipts.

What airport should I fly into?

The two major airports that you should fly into are: 1) Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) or 2) Miami International Airport (MIA).

If I bought myself a flight ticket with travel reward points or mileage do I still receive a subsidy?

No- if someone bought their ticket via travel reward points- he/she is not entitled to reimbursement.

What if my flight ticket is less than the allocated travel subsidy?

You will be reimbursed the lesser amount between the cost of the ticket and the travel subsidy.

If I am driving with my car – do I get travel expenses?

Yes- based on the chart we have provided. We encourage you to carpool to the summit. There will only be one travel reimbursement per car.

If I am driving my car, do I get parking for free?

No, all parking expenses are on you.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancellations with full refunds may be made until August 1, 2019. Any cancellations made after August 1, 2018 are not eligible for a refund. If you need to cancel, please contact Noa Dar at [email protected] .

Will I have time to explore South Florida outside of the summit?

Yes, the event will allow plenty of time for breaks and exploration. You are always welcome to arrive before the summit or choose to stay after; however, you must do so at your own expense.

Will I get reimbursed for my return trip if I stay longer ?

If you choose to stay longer, you may be eligible to still receive travel reimbursement as long as you stay within the parameters of the reimbursement/travel subsidy table. Please note that you will only receive hotel subsidies for the length of the summit (3 nights, $180 max).

What are the food options?

Dinner will be provided on Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Additionally, there will be a variety of kosher food options available for purchase at the summit hotel.

What is the dress code?

The dress code during the entirety of the summit is business casual. While the weather in South Florida is beautiful, please remember “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service!”
