David Vered was born in Israel in 1966. After serving in the Israeli Defense forces, he decided to follow his dreams and pursue a career in fashion in America. He moved to Los Angeles in 1988 at the age of 21, and in 1996 launched his first company, David’s Place Inc., an off-price clothing company which is still in business today.
In 1991, he met and married the love of his life, Esther and had 4 wonderful kids. In 2001, he launched YMI Jeanswear, one of the most fashion forward denim companies in the Fashion District of Los Angeles. The brand quickly gained recognition and became the most recognized marketed junior denim brand, retailing in over 3,000 boutiques, specialty retailers and departments stores.
In 2010, Vered custom built one of the largest fashion headquarters in Boyle Heights, with a state of the art 160,000 sq facility. Aside from business, Vered is a dedicated supporter of various charitable organizations. His passion and inspiration led him to create the Los Angeles branch of Lehosheet Yad, an Israeli organization supporting cancer-stricken children which sends a group of sick children to Los Angeles on an annual dream trip, in honor of his eldest son.
When Vered is not traveling the world for business, he enjoys his free time at sporting events supporting a variety of Los Angeles Sports teams, fine-dining, and above all else spending time with his family.
