Rachel Chafetz

Board Member

Rachel Chafetz is an Israeli American who came to the United States in 1994, and who has distinguished herself as an active and dedicated leader in many Jewish organizations.  She currently holds the leadership position Co-Chair of the Boston IAC Council, and is the VP of Development for Gateways – Access to Jewish Education.  Rachel currently serves on the Board of GANN Academy, and is an active member of JNF and AIPAC.  She was formerly a board member of the JCC and the Bureau of Jewish Education.  Rachel has the honor of having been chosen to be part of CJP’s current cohort of ACHARAI, its premier leadership training program.  Though Rachel’s work is in a volunteer capacity, she does hold a professional MA degree in Jewish Education from Hebrew College, as well as a Certificate in Special Education.  She lives in Newton with her husband Larry, and together they are raising their three children.
