Dr. Stanley Fischer

Former Vice Chairman of The Federal Reserve

Dr. Stanley Fischer, the former Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors from 2014 to 2017, has been a Senior Advisor to BlackRock since January 2019. He served as Governor of the Bank of Israel from 2005 to 2013 and was the first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund from September 1994 through August 2001. Dr. Fischer helped to shape modern economic theory as an academic at the University of Chicago and Massachusetts Institute of technology, trained many future policymakers, and put his ideas into practice in roles at the center of the response to the 2008 global financial crisis.
