Gary L. Bauer

Washington Director, CUFI Action Fund

Gary L. Bauer, a one-time Republican presidential candidate, currently serves as President of American Values, a non-profit public policy organization, Chairman of Campaign for Working Families, a political action committee, and Director of Christians United for Israel Action Fund, the Washington, D.C., lobbying arm of Christians United for Israel (CUFI). In 2010, the Zionist Organization of America honored Bauer with the Defender of Israel Award. In recent years, Mr. Bauer has been a frequent keynote speaker at CUFI's “Night to Honor Israel" events, uniting Christians and Jews in cities across America. Gary Bauer served eight years in President Ronald Reagan's administration, as Under Secretary of Education and as President Reagan's Chief Domestic Policy Advisor. In 1973, Bauer received his Law degree from Georgetown Law School in Washington D.C. He is married to the former Carol Hoke of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and lives in Virginia. Gary and Carol Bauer have three adult children.
