Rachel Chafetz is an Israeli American who came to the United States in 1994, and who has distinguished herself as an active and dedicated leader in many Jewish organizations. She currently holds the leadership position Co-Chair of the Boston IAC Council, and Campaign Chair for CJP Women Philanthropy. She is also a member of the IAC National Board. Rachel currently serves on the Board of Combined Jewish Philanthropy (CJP), Boston FIDF and is an active member of FIDF and AIPAC. She was formerly a board member of the JCC and the Bureau of Jewish Education, and served as the president of Gateways: Access to Jewish Education. Rachel has the honor of having been chosen to be part of CJP’s cohort of ACHARAI, its premier leadership training program, and was honored with the Chai at the Hub award for 2016.
Though Rachel’s work is in a volunteer capacity, she does hold a professional MA degree in Jewish Education from Hebrew College, as well as a Certificate in Special Education. She lives in Newton with her husband Larry, and together they are raising their three children Daniel, Tal and Ben. Rachel served as a Co-Chair on the IAC Boston Council from 2014-2017.
