Today we are shocked, saddened, and horrified to learn of the brutal murder of Hallel Yaffa Ariel – a 13-year old Israeli girl with American citizenship – who was stabbed to death by a Palestinian terrorist as she slept in her bed in Kiryat Arba, Israel.

On behalf of the Israeli-American community, we condemn this terrorism attack in the strongest terms.

Whether terrorism strikes in Brussels, Paris, Orlando, Kiryat Arba – responsible leaders, policymakers, and moral people everywhere have a duty to speak out forcefully against this global evil, and to stand against the hateful ideology that fuels it. The hate and depravity that would drive someone to commit this evil act emerges out of a culture of incitement, and is a growing danger that threatens innocents everywhere. Those who fail to condemn this culture of incitement are complicit in these horrific attacks.

Today our hearts break for the victim’s family, and our thoughts and prayers go out to them. May her memory be a blessing for us all.
