Maestro James Domine, conductor of the San Fernando Valley Symphony brings his unique insights to the development and performance of Broadway Musicals involving listening examples, discussion of the repertoire, as well as the composers, lyricists and source material associated with each. Lectures will discuss the role of significant composers and performers of productions presented on Broadway circa 1968 through the late 20th century. Topics will include the End of the Golden Age of Broadway, 1960s Rock Musicals, Dark Musicals, Quasi Opera, Rock Revival Revues and Disney movie-based musicals in addition to social commentary and satirical shows.
